Mistaken BeliefHow many times do we hear ourselves say- “Gey Usu madamus bilay machekhal yuqumel” “Gey Usu quda yattashumel” “Gey Usu yitkahalumel” “Gey Usu atibati histi yattashal” "Gey Usu, Gey Usu, Gey Usu................................you can keep going on and on. How do we expect to excel and strive to achieve success when we deeply maintain an attitude of self demeaning and despair? Expressing these mistaken beliefs over and over again, furthermore, passing on these beliefs to our young generation has profoundly affected our values and character. This negative characterization of ourselves has hindered our progress through generations and kept us from achieving our dreams. Everyone has a brilliant idea or a solution to all our problems. Many have written articles, delivered speeches, and have relentlessly emphasized on the need to unite and be strong. Each one of us has articulated opinions about how our society must improve. Each one of us has proposed solutions to our rather intricate social problems; after all, we failed to act on them. We all have individually contributed in one way or another to our collective social problems.and the solution begins on each one of us. We must have the courage to confront and challenge our mistaken beliefs and uphold a positive attitude about ourselves. Khairi Wer. |
