I would like to thank Kairi Wer to bringing up the need of our organizational constitution amendment. I’ve been hearing several comments over years from individuals and even a few board members that our constitution needs amendment, but no detail and section of the area where it needs to amend the most is mentioned or proposed. I personally have seen no one came forward with as such well drafted proposal as Kheiri Wer. Good Job ! Fellows,
I’ve personally endorsed the Idea of elder’s council amendment and if I may inject my point of this discussion.
A - AIM AND OBJECTIVES: In addition to specified in Kheiri Wer proposal,
· The council shall comprises of 5 members of mature age as suggested “preferably from both genders”. This will allow younger and moderate (professional) and older (traditional) generation to share and resolve our short comes together as necessary. All findings and recommendations shall be documented and made public as required.
D – DUTIES:
· The Council of elders shall have the power to investigate and resolve any conflicts between the board members within themselves to ensure the organization business runs smoothly and efficiently. Their decisions of resolving issues shall be binding, and final.
· The council of elders shall ensure all the organizational activities that needs approval by the majority board members shall be implemented. The council of elders may carry one on one discussion with the board members to ensure there is a healthy relationship within the board members.
· The council of elders shall ensure the board activity is in motion and any noticeable problems shall be discussed with the committee itself and forward recommendations to the board.
· The council of elders shall evaluate the organization overall activity and report to members every year at annual GA.
I find one of our major problem is that the internal conflict between the board
members that sometime go ugly splitting and paralyzing our community activity
every year and remain stagnant.
We need to move forward and we can do and achieve our goal and dreams beyond.
